Observation is one of the key elements of nature conservation and so Warthog Safaris has over the years donated radio transmitter collars to track the movements of lions, rhinos and cheetahs.
Conservation Projects
Project 1
Donated and reclocated 1 male and 1 female lion to a private game park. Both lions are fending for themselves in the wild and already have 4 cubs.
Project 2
Donated and relocated 1 male and 4 female lions to a private game park. The lions are fending for themselves in the wild and already have 13 cubs.
Donation of Tracking Collars
Warthog Safaris also donated tracking collars to Project 2 to aid in locating, observing and studying as well as protection of this new pride of lions.
These images show the selfless manner in which Warthog Safaris, under supervision of PHASA, keeps the conservation effort alive in Africa. Six captive-bred lions were transported by road & air from the Free State, South Africa, to the Lubango area in Angola.
By re-homing these magnificent creatures to spacious, wilderness areas where they may roam free, the lion population in Angola is given a crucial boost. This was the third project in a very successful campaign to provide a second chance for these magnificent creatures.
